Qualifications

As stipulated by law, I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. This is the body that regulates all health and care professions, and the registration of any practising psychologist can be confirmed on their website (https://www.hcpc-uk.org/check-the-register/).

My degree qualifications are as follows (in reverse chronological order):

Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) – University of Birmingham, completed 2010.

PhD in Psychology – University of Exeter, completed 2004.

MA in Psychology (1st Class Hons) – University of Cambridge, completed 2000.

In addition, I have completed the following training courses in specific therapy models:

ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy) Core Training: a three-year training accredited by IEDTA (the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association), with Dr Ross Crowther-Green and Dr Mark Stein, completed 2015 – 2018.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): a three-part training with Alexandra Richman, completed 2014 – 2015.

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) Intensive: a two-part training completed 2014 – 2015.

REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) advanced training: a three-day course, completed 2014.

Before my clinical training, I worked on a randomised controlled trial of MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) with Professor Willem Kuyken at the University of Exeter (2005-2007).
